CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA program allows local communities to connect directly with local farmers who provide the community with a source of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Think of it as having a home garden in which you get fresh fruits and veggies from… But we (the farmers) are planting, tending to, managing, and harvesting the goods for you!
-
To become a member of the CSA program, you, the member, purchase a “share” of our crop. In return, we, the farmers, provide you, the member, with your “share” of our crops as they are harvested over a 12-week period. We have two bundle options, one being a Full Share, the other being a Half Share. Each bundle will be customized with fresh produce of your choosing, based upon the items available each week. For more information, click on each bundle on the Shop page.
Becoming a member of The Corn Crib Produce CSA program also gives you priority in times of short supply. As a paid member of our business, members receive priority over our retail storefront, as they have already made a financial commitment to our crop.

Globally, the CSA program was developed to help local farmers purchase crop inputs such as seed and fertilizer by members of local communities purchasing their share of the crop upfront and in return receiving their share of the harvest throughout the season. With inputs such as seed, fertilizer and land drastically increasing in cost it becomes increasingly difficult to put in a crop. As many in the farming industry know, most all input costs are paid before you ever see a penny of return.
As a young man myself, striving to continue the legacy of The Corn Crib set forth by my Grandmother and Grandfather, the CSA-style program helps us to secure the much-needed capital to continue to grow the sweet corn and other vegetables many of you love.
And of course, in return, you, the member, are getting fresh, locally grown produce just as you would from your own backyard garden. You no longer have to question where the food you eat is coming from or what it may have been through in getting to you. You, the community, are getting hand-picked goods grown by farmers you get to know and personally connect with.
